Short answer:
Your signature is missing because the email you are replying to is in Plain Text format, which does not support images, links, or formatting.
You may notice that your signature works perfectly in most emails, but suddenly disappears when replying to a specific message.
Why this happens
Outlook (and some other email clients) can send emails in different formats:
- HTML – Supports images, logos, links, and formatting
- Plain Text (TXT) – Does not support formatting or images
If the original email is in Plain Text, your reply will also use Plain Text. This prevents your full signature from being displayed.
How to fix it
You have two options:
Option 1: Change the email format to HTML
- In Outlook, switch the email format from Plain Text to HTML
- Your full signature (with images and formatting) will then appear
Option 2: Use a plain text signature
If you must reply in Plain Text, you can create a simplified signature without formatting.
Note
Plain Text signatures cannot include images, logos, or styled formatting. Only basic text is supported.
