Fix AllSignatures.plist Permission Error (Mac)

Short answer:
The error “The AllSignatures.plist couldn't be opened because you don't have permission to view it” occurs because macOS blocks access. Grant Full Disk Access to the Xink app to resolve it.

Summary: macOS privacy restrictions (introduced in Mojave and later) prevent apps from modifying Apple Mail files unless explicitly allowed. Granting Full Disk Access allows Xink to update signatures correctly.

The first time you update signatures in Apple Mail, you may see this error:

Why this happens

macOS uses a strict security model that blocks applications from accessing certain files, including Apple Mail signature data, unless permission is granted.

Grant Full Disk Access to Xink

  1. Open System Settings (or System Preferences).
  2. Go to Privacy & Security.
  3. Select Full Disk Access.
  4. Click the + button (if Xink is not already listed).
  5. Navigate to Applications and select Xink.app.
  6. Click Open to add it.
  7. Restart the Xink app.

Next steps

After granting access, run Update signatures again in Xink and verify that the signatures are applied in Apple Mail.
