How to Map Custom Fields from Google Workspace Directory

This guide explains how to map custom fields from Google Workspace Directory to Xink so the values can be used in email signatures.

Custom fields are useful when you want to include additional employee information in the email signature that is not available in the standard Google Workspace Directory fields.

Example: You create a custom field called Hobby in Google Workspace Directory and then map it in Xink so the value can be used in your email signature template.

1. Create the custom field in Google Workspace Directory.
In this example, the custom field is called Hobby.

2. Go to Xink Preferences > Fields and add the custom field using the following format:
customField_CUSTOM_SCHEMA_CUSTOM_FIELD_NAME

Example:
customField_employeeInfo_hobby

In this example:
employeeInfo = the custom schema name
hobby = the custom field name

Important: The schema name and field name must match the values from Google Workspace Directory. If the value does not appear in the signature, check the schema name, the field name, and that the employee has a value entered in the custom field.

Next step: After mapping the custom field, you can use it in your Xink email signature template like any other mapped field.
