Short answer:
Use Google Workspace Directory group membership to assign different email signatures by creating a Groups field in Xink and targeting it with rules.
Group membership from Google Workspace Directory can be used to distribute different email signatures to specific groups of users.
This is useful when your primary data source does not contain enough information to segment users by fields such as department, office, or role.
Step 1: Create the Groups field in Xink
- Go to Preferences > Fields.
- Click the “+” button to create a new field.
- Enter the Property name groupCnList.
Xink accounts created after February 2018 include the Groups field by default.
Step 2: Enable reading groups from Google Workspace Directory
When users are imported into Xink, the Groups field can display the Google Workspace Directory groups each user belongs to.
This feature must be enabled by Xink support.

Example of group membership data
The Groups field will contain a list of the user’s group memberships:
Step 3: Create rules based on group membership
You can use the Groups field to target users when assigning email signatures.
- Go to Preferences.
- Select Rules.
- Create a rule that checks the Groups field.
Best practice
- Create one rule per group check
- Avoid combining multiple conditions in a single rule
- Keep rules simple for easier maintenance
You can reorder rules by dragging them. Xink stops processing once the first matching rule is found.
