We created this guide for Active Directory (On-Premise) and Azure AD Hybrid setup, where an existing Custom Attribute (field) from AD on-prem or Azure AD needs to be imported to Xink portal and used in Xink signature templates.

Requirement

1. You have an existing AD on-premise, and it's synchronizing to Azure AD using Azure AD Connect.

2. Azure AD Connect is already setup and synchronizing to your Azure AD including custom attributes from AD on-premise to Azure AD. Learn More
3. Azure AD permissions are already granted in Microsoft Azure Tenant as follow:NEXT – Verify that a custom attribute already exists in the Azure AD using PowerShell or you may display the attributes name through Microsoft Graph API using Azure AD Graph Explorer.

After Full sync from AD on-premise to Azure AD using Azure AD Connect, Launch Azure AD via PowerShell or Azure AD Graph Explorer to find out what is the Attribute Display Name of the custom attribute.

A sample query using Azure AD Graph Explorer to find out the new Azure AD attribute Display Name:

Sample PowerShell query to find out the Azure AD attribute Display Name:

PS Command:

Get-AzureADUser -SearchString user@domain.com | select -ExpandProperty extensionproperty

The attributes are prefixed with this format extension_{AppClientId}_AttributeDisplayName where 'extension' is a constant value for all attributes in your Azure AD tenant.

How to map Azure AD custom attribute to Xink custom field.

1. You will need to create a custom field first in Xink portal. Navigate to Preferences > Fields and click the + icon

2. Copy and paste extension_{AppClientId}_AttributeDisplayName into the Property Name of the Xink custom field and click Save.

3. This field will be populated after the next sync from Azure AD.
